ITMA 2023: Transforming the World of Textiles

The world’s largest international textile and garment technology exhibition, ITMA 2023 will be held at Fiera Milano Rho, Milan, Italy from 8 to 14 June 2023. It is expected to draw over 1,500 exhibitors to showcase their latest products and technologies over 200,000 square metres of the exhibition complex. Each edition welcomes visitorship of over 100,000. Hence, it is the most highly anticipated textile and garment machinery exhibition in the world.

The overarching theme of ITMA 2023 is Transforming the World of Textiles. This reflects the aspirations of both textile machinery and textile producers that collaboration can bring forth a more sustainable future for the industry and the planet. Subthemes have designed to draw attention to topical issues: automation and digital future, advanced materials, sustainability and circularity, and innovative technologies.

Held every four years since 1951, ITMA is recognised as the ‘Olympics’ of textile machinery exhibitions where the industry converges to showcase outstanding innovations, and explore fresh ideas, effective solutions and collaborative partnerships for business growth.

It is owned by CEMATEX, the European Committee of Textile Machinery. CEMATEX is an organisation comprising nine national European textile machinery associations from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

ITMA is the recognised platform for
  • End-to-end solutions for the entire textile and garment manufacturing value chain, including fibres, yarns and fabrics
  • Manufacturers who design, produce or/and sell original products and services
  • Exhibits clustered in dedicated sectors for easy sourcing
  • Innovation launchpad where exhibitors unveil new technologies and products
  • Live machinery demonstrations
  • Outstanding knowledge, collaboration and networking platform

At ITMA 2023, exhibits will be displayed in 20 sectors, ranging from raw materials to spinning, weaving and knitting to finishing and logistics. Besides showcasing nonwoven technologies, a new chapter on composite manufacturing has added for the upcoming edition.

Highlights at the exhibition will include the Research & Innovation Lab, ITMA Sustainable Innovation Award, Innovator Xchange and several co-located industry events to enhance educational and networking opportunities among textile industrialists from around the world.

In 2019, ITMA was held in Barcelona. It attracted 1,717 exhibitors from 45 countries and visitorship of over 105,000 from 137 countries. Exhibits were showcased over 114,500 square metres of net exhibit space.
